This past weekend I had the pleasure of working with Mandy Tallent and Andy Wheeler. When I met with Mandy and her family back in January, her personality was bigger than life. Mandy loved flowers, she loves color which matches her beautiful sunny disposition and she wanted the wedding of a lifetime. The Waters Mill team did just that. Our team created one of the most spectacular events this past weekend. The centerpieces were over the top with our fluted glass containers filled with blue polymer with green submersible lights. Andy, the finance’, is a hunter. We used one of my favorite overlays, the moss crush, to create the perfect backdrop for the arrangements and then the flowers were so perfect they don’t even look real. Mandy wanted the room to explode with color and that is exactly what we did.
At Waters Mill, we understand the importance of one’s wedding. It’s not just flowers that make the wedding unbelievable but it’s the whole package. I sincerely doubt in 5 years, folks will remember the flowers but I can be certain they will remember the ambience and the FOOD. ”Food, Glorious Food”, from the musical Oliver is what comes to my mind with Mandy’s wedding. We had such a terrific menu for her guests. Mandy and her family are the epitome of Southern hostesses. Our culinary staff hit it out of the park this past weekend from the mushrooms stuffed with sausage, Waters Mill signature Chicken Florentine to one of the most delicious Prime Rib I have ever tasted. It was fabulous.
To end a perfect day, we had of course a beautiful wedding cake which was the traditional pound cake. The wedding cake was a 3 tier square with fondant ribbons and gum paste flowers that matched the blooms in the centerpieces. But that’s not all, we made homemade blackberry and strawberry cobbler with homemade whip cream.
The guests left the evening with one of our precious favors…..Waters Mill raw organic honey. Everything is in house from the labels to the honey it self. I love to watch the honey bees carry in their pollen treasures in their little pockets and then the wonderfully weird almost miraculous creation of honey. The guests absolutely love this favor.
And then there’s the service. The staff at Waters Mill are very well trained and appreciate the importance of our client’s wedding. Our team give of themselves so that our client can experience terrific service.

If you have ever attended a wedding at Waters Mill, you truly can appreciate that we are serious about all the details. It’s the details and striving for that which is highest that make Waters Mill wedding the experience. Affordable elegance! A special thanks to Kevin Ellison with Waters Mill Photography for coming over and snapping a few shots for me. I greatly appreciate it.

I’m just too tired to talk about the wedding tonight but I did want to share with you one of the beautiful pictures my husband took tonight of the centerpieces. I will blog about this wedding sometime this weekend. It was amazing!
